The job of the Advocates is to present the freedom philosophy to opinion leaders. We help them encounter, evaluate, and if appropriate, embrace the ideals of self-government.
Most people don't read economics books. They get their ideas from journalists, teachers, talk-show hosts, clergy, celebrities, and respected friends, family and acquaintances. Our specialty is improving the skills and tools of people who believe in the freedom philosophy so that they can reach these opinion leaders.
This focus makes us unique in the freedom movement. We are not a political organization, a lobbying group, or a think tank. We provide you with the tools and methods to win people to the side of liberty. Ask for our catalog.
Since its founding by Marshall Fritz, in 1985, the Advocates has supplied training materials to over 4,000 libertarians.
We now sponsor local Advocate chapters. Each chapter has four to ten members who use the many Advocates' tools and training materials to practice and improve their own communication, outreach, and leadership skills.
Operation Politically Homeless is an outreach event in a kit that libertarians coast to coast are using to find prospects by the hundreds. It's great for fairs, rallies, festivals, swap meets, trade shows and college campuses. And it's fun.
Passersby are drawn to the display showing the new political map. They take the World's Smallest Political Quiz and find their "home" on the large Self-Government Chart. People are fascinated to discover there's a way to measure political leanings.
The ones who score libertarian will be amazed, even delighted, to learn there is a name for their beliefs. Many give their names for follow-up.
The local organizers of Operation Politically Homeless are fully trained and supplied by the Advocates with everything they need for this event including a training manual, training tape, professional posters, World's Smallest Political Quiz cards and much more.

With the Liberty Communicator Course, we teach libertarians how to present ideas gently, not abrasively. Persuasively, not argumentatively. Briskly, rather than droning on and on with oral essays. Libertarians also learn the mundane but necessary details such as how to get invited to speak and how to get a warm rather than hostile introduction.

Libertarians need training to become effective speakers to high schools, colleges and service clubs. We provide tools to help them learn what to say and how to say it well.
We've designed and tested many speeches proven to draw a 20-30% response (audience members who give their names and addresses for additional information). And we train local libertarians in how to give those speeches.
Self-Government, An Idea Whose Time Has Come (Again) is a fast-paced and entertaining look at America's original political philosophy. Widely held as the best live introduction to the freedom philosophy, this presentation by Marshall Fritz is now available as a broadcast-quality video.
Also, Is Victory Possible for These Ideas?, a companion video shows the reasons to hope that the ideas of freedom will win. Both of these videos, which are available in VHS format and are great educational and motivational tools.
