Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the first gun control laws in America tied to Jim Crow legislation?

Up until this year, Georgia still had a Jim Crow law on the books. The law was the The Public Gathering Law and was enacted in 1870 to ensure that newly freed slaves would be defenseless at public gatherings in Georgia.
