Thomas F. Monteleone is a critically-acclaimed, award-winning horror/suspense/thriller writer. He is author of numerous novels including "The Blood of the Lamb," which won a 1993 Bram Stoker Award, "Lyrica," "The Ressurectionist" and "Night of Broken Souls." He is also publisher of the widely-praised "Borderlands" horror anthology series, about which writer Harlan Ellison said: "This series puts every other anthology and its editor to shame. This is what imaginative fiction should be."

Monteleone also writes a column for Cemetery Dance Magazine, and in that column often mixes political observations with thoughts on writing horror fiction. Here are two recent examples:

"Now just because I'm not into the drug scene doesn't mean I'm any less of a good Libertarian. I think all drugs should be legalized for several reasons: one, we'll never win the 'war' on drugs and the billions we've pissed away trying is an embarrassment; two, we should dismantle the phantom economy that creates millionaire-morons with Lamborghinis and Glocks; and three, it's none of the government's business if an individual wants to be high..."

"Look at just about any 'program' the government gets involved in and you could find a private company (that must account for its actions and expenditures) being able to do it better. There are literally thousands of examples of this..."
