| Former
porn star Tyffany Million appeared in dozens of X-rated videos, so her
fans may think there's nothing she can do that would shock them. However,
even her most loyal fans might be surprised to learn that the buxom
blonde is a self-described "individualist feminist" and a
registered Libertarian.
Million (born Sandra Lee Schwab) discussed her political beliefs in
a 1996 interview on www.eidos.org. "I am a registered Libertarian,
although I tend to vote Republican in the big elections," she said.
"This year, though, I'll probably vote Libertarian in the [presidential
election] as well, as neither Dole or Clinton is any less evil than
the other. Same crap in a different package."
Million said she was disappointed that many "so-called 'Republicans'
have gotten off the track of the original Republican platform"
and seem to think "that they know what's best for women and their
bodies" -- a view that is sharply at odds with her "individualist
feminist" philosophy. "A feminist is one who fights for the
right of women to question their traditional roles, in order for each
and every individual woman to live her life as she sees fit, within
the boundaries of not interfering with other's rights to live their
lives as they see fit," she explained. "The Republican Party
could learn a lot from individualist feminists like myself."
Million got her start in the entertainment industry on the television
show, Gorgeous Lady of Wrestling (GLOW), and later appeared
in low-budget movies like Tales From the Crypt, My Two Dads,
and Caged Fury. In 1992, she made her first adult movie, Twister,
and went on to star in such titles as Shades of Blue, Wild Things
3, Dirty Little Mind, and Passion. In 1995, she won a
Best Actress Award from the X-Rated Critics' Organization (XRCO) for
her role in the movie Sex.
In the www.eidos.org interview, Million said she always tried to be
"professional" about her X-rated job. "To me, a professional
is one who strives to do nothing less than his or her best in all areas
related to his or her profession," she said. "I certainly
have lived up to that definition throughout my XXX career."
In 1996, Million retired from the adult film industry. Today, she is
a "married mother of two" in the suburbs, and is "living
the life I've always wanted to live."
