Wards of the State
Once you drop your kids off at the local government school, they're no
longer your kids.
That's what a federal judge says. According to the American Family
Association Journal, a Texas child was questioned at school by the state
Children's Protective Services (CPS), without the parents' knowledge or
consent. The child was also forced to strip to allow a female CPS agent to
check for signs of alleged spankings. The outraged parents filed suit
against the school district. However, federal district judge Melinda Harmon
ruled in favor of the school district, declaring that "parents give up their
rights when they drop the children off at public school." (Source: "The
