Wayne Allyn Root: 'I'm Becoming A Libertarian...'

Wayne Allyn Root is a national TV personality, appearing weekly on the USA network's "Proline" as a sports analyst. He is also president of Root International, a motivational speaking firm specializing in empowering businesses, corporations, and individuals to achieve personal and professional fulfillment. He is author of the self-help book, "The Joy of Failure."

On March 9, Wayne Allyn Root was a guest on "Politically Incorrect." The following exchange took place between Root and host Bill Maher:

Root: I'm a Republican, as you know. And you know what? I'm becoming less and less of one. I'm becoming a libertarian, because I think --

Bill Maher: God bless you.

Root: -- the Republican Party is supposed to be the party of anti-government. And by going into people's bedrooms and checking up on what they're doing, by telling you whether you can be gay or straight, I think they've become the party of big government.

Maher: You're right.

Root: I think the win-win issue is for Republicans to leave people alone and let them do what they want in their bedrooms and cut our taxes. That's all they should be doing. That's it.
