Libertarian Kid Winner in Tax Contest!
Here's a great income tax story that has us cheering. In early February we
mentioned that Intuit, a leading software company whose products include tax
preparation software, was sponsoring a contest called "Kids Speak Out About
Taxes." The contest asked kids in the third through fifth grades to tell, in
25 words or less, how they think the federal government should spend tax
dollars.
Winners would get savings bonds -- and all winning entries would be
published in a newsletter sent to every member of Congress. We encouraged
libertarian kids to enter.
Well, eight-year-old Loren Hudson of Springdale, Arizona did -- and she was
one of the winners! She gets a $50 savings bond -- and her winning entry
will be sent to every member of Congress.
Loren's entry: "Government should first tell my mom & dad what it will be
used for and then mom & dad can give taxes if they want."
Hooray for Loren! With kids like her out there, our future is looking
brighter and brighter.
