Jimmy Walker: A 'Dyno-mite' Libertarian
Advocates supporter Ken Bush says his hobby is approaching celebrities and
discussing libertarianism with them. Recently Ken had the chance to speak
with Jimmy Walker, one of the most widely-recognized comedians in the world.
Walker first came to national attention in the 1970's, when he starred as
"J.J." in the hit TV sitcom "Good Times." Since then, he has toured America
and the world as a popular stand-up comedian.
Ken asked Walker if he was a libertarian, and Walker responded
enthusiastically that he was, and had been for many years. Walker also told
Bush that he generally votes for Libertarian Party candidates. After their
talk, Walker posed for a picture next to a blow-up of the "World's Smallest
Political Quiz" chart. Walker pointed to his spot on the chart -- the
libertarian sector. We'll have that picture in an upcoming issue of our
print magazine, The Liberator.
