Survey: American Youth Distrust Government
A huge percentage of American youth seem primed and ready for the
libertarian message.
A summer-long survey conducted by Project Vote Smart - a national
non-partisan, non-profit organization that provides citizens and voters
with information about the political system, issues, candidates and elected
officials -- found that only 9% of potential voters between the ages of 18
to 25 trust the federal government.
And fully 24% of these young potential voters say they do not trust *any*
level of government, whether local, state or national.
Furthermore, unlike older voters - who still look to TV as their top source
for political information - fully 70% of these younger potential voters
identify the Web as their most useful source for political information. The
Web, of course, is far more libertarian as a whole than the off-line world.
