Libertarian Celebrity: Best-Selling Novelist Nelson DeMille
Nelson DeMille is one of America's most popular novelists, with a string of
best-sellers for more than a decade. He is perhaps best known for his novel
The General's Daughter, which became a blockbuster movie starring John
Travolta. His latest novel, The Lion's Game, is one of America's top 10
best-sellers.
He's published over 15 books in the last 25 years, many of which have been
best-sellers. His best-known novels include The Charm School (1988), The
Gold Coast (1990), Spencerville (1994), Plum Island (1997) and Mayday
(1998). His novels include murder mysteries, international thrillers, and
exposes of high society life.
On January 12, DeMille told Newsday that he is a libertarian, adding: "I
think there's a strong libertarian movement [in America] towards smaller
government."
