2005 Winners The people honored on this page brought libertarian ideas to literally millions of people in 2005. The 2005 Lights of Liberty awards were given by the Advocates for Self-Government to libertarians who accomplished any one of these three vital outreach activities: (see program description for details)
Many of the people below went far beyond the minimum requirement for the awards, as noted beside their names. 8 libertarians even won what has been dubbed the "Libertarian Triathlon" -- winning awards in all three categories. They are: * * *
* * * Lights of Liberty letter writers reached millions of Americans via
newspapers across the country. Lights of Liberty speakers took
libertarian ideas to service clubs, classrooms, political rallies,
televised debates, and more. Operation Politically Homeless booth
activists met thousands of people one-on-one, introducing them to
libertarian ideas at fairs, political rallies, flea markets, gun shows,
