Kurt Russell Kurt Russell has been a world-renowned film star for more than three decades. As a child, he starred in Disney classics including "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes."

As an adult, Russell has starred in numerous films of all types, including "Silkwood" (with Meryl Streep), "Tango and Cash" (with Sylvester Stallone), "Backdraft" (with Robert DiNiro), "Escape from New York," "Stargate," "Executive Decision," and "Breakdown," to name a few.

Russell's three biggest motion picture hits -- "Tombstone," "Stargate," and "Executive Decision" -- grossed a total of $200 million in the United States.

At the Cato Institute 20th Anniversary Banquet in 1997, Russell said he's been a libertarian for more than two decades.

He's married to film star Goldie Hawn. His son, Boston, 17, is also said to be a libertarian or libertarian-leaning.

Quotable:

"I'm a libertarian. I think a lot of people are libertarians and are afraid to admit it -- or don't know." -- Washington Post, May 2, 1997.
