Five Times August

Brad Skistimas, performing under the moniker Five Times August, is an independent singer-songwriter from Dallas, Texas. In 2007, his album The Independent became the first by a completely unsigned artist to be distributed in Walmart stores nationwide. In 2021, Skistimas began releasing protest songs addressing COVID-19 regulations and government overreach, including the hit “Sad Little Man,” which reached #1 on several Amazon and Apple Music charts . His 2022 album Silent War compiles these tracks, reflecting his advocacy for individual freedoms and skepticism of centralized authority. Skistimas’s work has resonated with liberty-minded audiences, leading to performances at events like the Defeat the Mandates rally in Washington, D.C., and the 2024 Libertarian National Convention.
