Harry Browne (1933–2006) was an American writer, financial strategist, and outspoken libertarian who twice ran for U.S. president as the Libertarian Party nominee. Known for his clear, principled messaging and calm demeanor, Browne brought a personal and practical tone to the liberty movement. He authored over a dozen books, including the bestselling How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World, where he laid out a path for individual autonomy in a bureaucratic world. As a candidate and commentator, Browne consistently emphasized peace, free markets, and personal responsibility. He advocated not just limited government, but a radically voluntary society grounded in individual consent, moral clarity, and non-aggression.
